Gas Dryer Igniter Replacement
Smell gas? Leave immediately, then call 911 and your gas utility from outside. Do not use switches or phones inside.
The igniter glows to open the gas valve. When it weakens, it glows but never lights the burner. Igniters are a very common failure on older gas dryers and are normally replaced together with a check of the valve coils.
